The New Age Story of how Dr Watson acquired a special place in the great man’s heart
Preface
I suspect that not too many one pagers such as these or those in that vicinity at any rate ever have a preface but mine has to have one to give one a background of the title firstly and all that unfolds beneath the ‘M’ and the ‘N’.
It is purely something inspired by two of my heroes if one were to call it – the legendary Sherlock Holmes (and his creator Mr Conan Doyle for his mastery in sketching him with his pen) and the ‘common man’ of Mumbai- who is as uncommon as one could find in the annals of ‘normal human behaviour’.
The reader is forewarned that the premise of all this is this- would Sherlock have been the razor sharp legend that he was and IS if he were taken out of the pristine and regal confines of 19th century England and of course 221 B Baker Street and thrust into the hurly burly of Mumbai.
Therefore to borrow further from the Hindi Film Industry, (with due apologies of course to Mr Arthur Conan Doyle) this is my representation of Sherlock Holmes and his tryst in Mumbai before he became the legend… a prequel as it were
